Cardiff City have completed a £3m deadline day move for Reading midfielder Leandro Bacuna, as reported by Football.London.

Bacuna, who operates in the heart of the midfield, made 26 Championship appearances for the Royals this season, scoring three goals.

The 27-year-old does have Premier League experience, making 85 top-flight appearances for Aston Villa before joining Reading in the summer of 2017.

The Curacao international has signed a four and a half year contract in the Welsh capital and could feature in this weekend’s match against AFC Bournemouth.

Bacuna will provide competition for Harry Arter and Victor Camarasa, who have featured regularly in the middle of the park this season.

Boss Neil Warnock also has Joe Ralls and Aron Gunnarsson at his disposal, so could be provided with a selection headache for the rest of the campaign.

On his move to Cardiff, he said:

A few weeks ago, I was made aware of some interest and it has all gone from there. I’m very happy and looking forward to getting started. Every game I play I give 100 per cent, and I’ll be fighting hard to help our team. I’ve played against the manager and you can see he always wants to win. He is so passionate. It’s going to be great to work underneath him and hopefully, he will push me on as a player.

Is Bacuna a good signing for Cardiff?
