Cardiff City have been boosted by the news that up to three Burnley players could be forced to sit out the match between the sides on Saturday.
As reported by LancsLive, Aaron Lennon and Peter Crouch have been ruled out and Phil Bardsley is also an injury doubt.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference today, Clarets boss Sean Dyche explained that Bardsley cut his leg on a table tennis table earlier this week, meaning he may not be able to feature.
Crouch underwent an operation on his appendix earlier this month whilst it is hoped Lennon will return before the end of the season.
Cardiff travel to the Turf Moor knowing that they can close the gap to their hosts to five points should they pick up the victory in Lancashire.
That would drag the Clarets right back into the relegation battle, with the Bluebirds then having five more matches to play until the end of the season.
However, Neil Warnock’s men are not in the best vein of form having lost back to back matches, albeit against Chelsea and Manchester City.
Warnock is likely to keep a similar starting XI to the one that kept defending Champions City to just two goals at the Etihad Stadium last Wednesday.
